Balinesian Smiles

Posted on January 22, 2017September 20, 2019 by rustymoss

We left our house at 930pm and arrived in Indonesia 27 hours later!  Just a 16 hour flight from Houston to Taipei, a 5 hour layover, a 5 hour flight to Denpasar, and a 30 minute taxi ride later we arrived at the Intercontinental Bali. At it is awesome!

So beautiful!  We awoke at 630am to this view from our balcony.

We then had a lovely breakfast buffet: waffles with peanut butter, crepes, freshly squeezed guava juice, jackfruit, meats, cheeses, the best cappuccino ever.  Oh, and vegemite.  Afterwards we jaunted toward the beach.

The rainstorms soon brought us under the huts near the swimming pool.  We enjoyed the drizzling sound of the rain onto the pool, the wind through the trees, and the salt in the air. After lazing about for a couple hours we explored Spa Uluwatu.  The shrubbery, paths, and bonsai trees in the spa garden are absolutely gorgeous.

A nice hour or so at the spa was followed by lunch and a ride into town. Tomorrow we go to Ubud and see temples, rice fields, and coffee plantations!  Day 1 has been excellent!  Everyone here is so nice and full of smiles–a seemingly very peaceful culture.

Soak up all that beauty. Take plenty of pics. Then put it all to use in that book you are destined to write.
